Illustrators' Partnership of America is accepted into IFRRO
The IPA is pleased to report that the Illustrators' Partnership has been accepted as
an Associate Member of the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organizations
(IFRRO). IFRRO is an independent organization established to foster the fundamental
international copyright principles embodied in the Berne and Universal Copyright Conventions.
IFRRO works to support joint attempts by publishers, authors and other rights holders to
create and develop rights management systems world-wide. Because IPA shares the same acronym
with one of IFRRO's oldest founding members, the Switzerland-based International Publishers
Association established in 1896 with 78 members in 65 countries, IPA has been asked to alter
our acronym to eliminate the possibility of identity confusion. The IPA will be known within
IFRRO as AIP,

Announcing the 3rd World Congress of Medical and Scientific Imaging

"Explore" has been chosen as the name of the 3rd World Congress of Medical and Scientific Imaging.
In keeping with our theme, 'Explore: Discover the Possibilities,' the 2005 World Congress aims to inform delegates and attendees of the latest trends in medical and scientific imaging, so that the potential of modern technologies can be fully realized.
The meeting program will consist of 3 days of academic papers, a professional exhibition, and a unique opportunity to take part in a Great Barrier Reef expedition.

2004 GNSI Annual Conference

The Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI) is holding their 2004
annual meeting from July 4 - 10, in historic Williamsburg, Virginia.
This meeting is being hosted at the College of William and Mary, the
second oldest college in the U.S. GNSI instructional workshops, fieldtrips,
and lecture/presentations are planned. Founded at the Smithsonian Institution
in 1968, the Guild has grown to become part of the global community. It is a
non-profit organization that sets high professional standards, provides
opportunities for professional and scholarly development, encourages and
assists member networking, and promotes itself to potential clients and the
